Ensemble Real Estate Solutions, a leader in development, investment, management, and leasing of commercial real estate has an opening for a Family Office Controller to lend their talents to our Long Beach, CA office. We have a great track record of success owing to the talent and dedication of our team members.

This position will interact with the managing member and other family members as well as employees of Ensemble’s Accounting Department and will handle all of the accounting and reporting for the primary holding company and its various investments.  Investments include land, real estate development, real estate holdings and a farm.  This position is a hands-on position that will need to work very independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recording transactions in general ledger and closing the books
  • Preparing account reconciliations
  • Cash management
  • Calculating distributions to members
  • Setting up wire transfers for both the Family Office entities as well as Ensemble entities
  • Preparing financial statements and covenant calculations for lenders
  • Preparing tax work papers for CPA firms and reviewing tax returns
  • Coordination of small payroll with payroll provider
  • Other duties as assigned by the Managing Member or CFO

Required Skills

  • Education: B.S. in Accounting. CPA a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 10-15 years of accounting and reporting experience
    • 5 or more years of real estate accounting/finance experience
    • Treasury and cash management experience required
    • Experience in family office ideal
    • Experience with LLCs and loan agreements required
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Intermediate Excel Skills (V-looks ups, Sum-ifs, Pivot tables).  Yardi experience ideal but similar software experience will be considered. Experience with on-line banking (wires etc.) required.
  • Soft Skills: Executive presence with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Self-starter; ability to work independently as well as under pressure
